
Ben F. Gray
Ben is passionate to see individuals deepen their intimacy with Jesus Christ, understand how they are made in the image of a passionate God and discover their calling and mission in God. He is a leader, speaker, author and consultant, who, through travelling the globe in church, mission and business activities, has developed communication and leadership skills to impact a generation for Jesus. Ben is the apostolic leader of CHI - Ministries – a non-denominational network of Kingdom Ministry, Strategic Prayer and Global Missions.
He's the founder and director of Vocations 4Life International, an innovative Online Program that helps people to discover their ‘all-of-life’ calling, built around the revelation of his groundbreaking book, Heaven’s Answer To Earth’s Dilemma. He co-chairs ‘Yes! We Care’ – a citywide network of mission and ministry activity in Brisbane, Australia; founder and apostolic oversight of the Australian Prayer Network, a large cross-denominational prayer movement and co-chairs the vision team of the Australian National Day Of Thanksgiving. Ben's commitment to the people of Brisbane has made him a widely respected community leader, and a well known national and international leader within the global prayer movement and the church worldwide.
In the position of Senior Associate, Ben’s multi-gifted leadership abilities and wide-ranging experience were utilized on a team that grew one of Australia’s largest Baptist Churches that had an expanding church planting and global missions network. In 1993, he founded the Australian Prayer Network (APN), now the largest prayer network in the region. He is a known leader in the prayer movement nationally and internationally, and since 1993 he has led strategic prayer and mission journeys into 10/40 Window and other targeted nations, something he still does. He has led short-term missions, as a missions mobilizer, speaker and as a pastor to pastors.
From 1993 to 2010, Ben was the executive editor of PrayerLink a key publication on prayer, mission and revival in Australia and the region; in the nineties, Ben held regional leadership in the global AD2000 Movement and the Evangelical Fellowship of the South Pacific (EFSP); since 1993 he has convened key conferences and seminars in Australia and internationally, bringing timely and encouraging ministry to the body of Christ.
In 1996 Ben founded CityHarvest International (now called CHI - Ministries) which works in strategic partnership with other like-minded organizations in kingdom, prayer and missions activities. In 1998-2009 he pioneered and pastored CityHarvest Church in Brisbane, and with another team in 2001 helped birth a sister church in Caloundra City, Queensland. In 1999 he pioneered CityHarvest Publications to provide and promote cutting-edge resources for the mission of the Kingdom. He has led pastor’s prayer and strategic leadership gatherings across the nation, working with church and community leaders in citywide transformation ministry with the Australian Prayer Network. In 2001, along with a number of the cities leading Pastor’s, Ben helped pioneer a citywide network of churches and ministries in Brisbane, called BrizNet.
Ben has a deep love for God and a strong commitment to people. His commitment to the people of Brisbane has made him a widely respected community leader. His years of pastoral experience, openness and sensitivity to the work of the Holy Spirit, combine to make his ministry style relaxed and discerning while being relevant, credible and practical. He is well known across the Church in his city, nation and internationally for his strong commitment to the kingdom of God in society and all creation. Ben is married to Liz. He also has three married adult children, Cheralynn, Bernadette and Benjamin, from his first marriage, and is the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren.
