“From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him though he is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17: 26-27). The redemptive gift, design or purpose of a city or region or nation, when fully released, will cause their destiny to be revealed in ways that manifest the characteristics of the kingdom of God, so that people are drawn towards the true image of Jesus. In a recent Prayer Journey to North Africa and the Island nation of Malta, my team and I were able to engage with God’s redemptive design for the people in both nations. These strategic Prayer Journeys are based upon solid research, sustained prayer and prophetic revelation. We were there to lend a hand in seeing God’s spiritual design come forth in this new season of grace for them. For the North African nation there is a new wind of the Spirit coming – a wind of change; one that would see a new church landscape emerge in that nation that was indigenous and unrestrained, that was not shaped by Western influence. For the nation of Malta there is a new season of strategic alliances forming both in the natural and spiritual that would affect the nation and it’s people for decades to come. Malta has a unique and colourful history, one that has greatly helped nations throughout the course of time. It was a real joy to connect with God’s purpose and redemptive design for this nation, one built around: unusual kindness (hospitality), resourcefulness and healing. (Acts 28) As we went onsite and connected with the redemptive design of these nations, we assisted in ‘birthing’ kingdom influences every place we went. Our overall goal in this is to bring God’s presence and reality to the everyday life of the people in these nations, a reality that would result in a transformation of their society. I have discovered that it’s not the presence of demons or sin that’s the problem; rather it’s the absence of the glory of God. On these Prayer Journey’s as we go onsite to pray and engage with God’s agenda and the people, we go as God’s ‘presence carriers’, in order to see His glory revealed in the nation. In this we seek to look for and understand God’s redemptive design, not to condemn it or the people’s waywardness and sin. Today, as always, God is assembling the nations according to His divine purpose. As we do these strategic Prayer Journeys into the nations, we become part of His end-time strategy in the earth to “…look forward to the day of God and to speed its coming” (2 Peter 3:12). My friends and I look for willing saints of God who will go into the nations, to put their hand in God’s and partner with Him in preparing the way, removing the stumbling rocks and blockages of impediment; opening ancient doors (gates) of authority, rebuilding highways of holiness (Isa. 38:8) in cooperative and strategic partnerships in prayer over nations for God’s end time purpose. History belongs to those who pray, their obedience cleansers and heals the foundations and prepares the way for transformation. “Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.” Isa. 62:10 You can register to become part of a strategic Prayer Journey and connect with God’s redemptive design for people and nations. It is my understanding that the collective purpose of the people of a city, region or nation, is uniquely designed by God in terms of its time in history and the place where they live.
