V4L Workbook Vocations 4 Life Seminar

This seminar will enable you discover your specific vocational grace motivations, individual disposition, preferred behavioral style and personal temperament. Together this will allow you to connect with God's heart and vision for you and the world in which you live.

Vocations 4 Life is a personalised learning journey. You begin by completing our online questionnaires that enable us to generate your unique V4L Personal Profile. After attending the seminar (or reading our training e-book) and exploring your special combination of gifts that our triune God has equipped you with, our Journal allows you to continue your voyage of personal discovery. The course concludes with a Personal Consultation with a dedicated training consultant, who will help you establish the unique vocational grace God has given you to fulfil the call on your life.

The seminar looks at your life from a Trinitarian perspective. It explores and explains the gifts, attributes, abilities and values that each member of the Trinity – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit - has given into your life to enable you to be the person you are and to accomplish your God-given purpose in life.

It stands to reason that the more that we can understand the gifts of the Trinity, the more we will be able to live and work in line with them. The world system so often conspires to press us into its ‘straight-jacket’. To break out and be who we are meant to be, we need find out what God has made us to be and do in life. Vocations 4 Life is designed to help you make these essential discoveries for your life in God.
It is important therefore to understand that God has a blueprint, a design and a purpose for each life. This Vocations 4 Life course gives each participant an opportunity to gain a better understanding of their life’s calling and assignments in God.

What participants will discover

their specific Vocational Grace Motivations (VGM’s) and how to engage their life and work through them. Vocational Grace Motivations are ministry graces given by Christ to Christians to help them fulfill their calling or vocation in the creation. These graces motivate, direct and enable the individual to locate the work that is most suitable to their calling and to succeed in that work with the gifts, skills and abilities given to them by God. These grace motivations are apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher and practical leader.
their Creational Grace Abilities (CGA’s), which have been given to them by God the Father from birth. These attributes and abilities (skill- sets) have been uniquely created by God and then molded throughout the person’s life experiences. Over time a person will develop specific skill-sets that cluster around their vocational grace motivations. These fall into certain categories like planning, counseling, teaching, resourcing and many more.
their Spiritual Grace Manifestations (SGM’s). These are Holy Spirit empowered gifts given to each Christian to enable them to carry out their God-given assignments on earth. The more that we operate from our vocational grace motivations, the more we can draw upon the gifts of the Holy Spirit to empower and enhance the work that we do. Different spiritual gifts tend (more easily) to align with different grace motivations and different circumstances. Participants learn how to recognize and call on these manifestations of the Spirit.
their Preferred Temperament. Each one of us operates from preferred temperament and behavioral styles (value drivers), which over time, come to shape our character and the ways in which we approach and accomplish our work. Participants learn about their preferred way of approaching life and work, discovering their strengths and weaknesses and ways to align these with their vocational grace motivations.
how to identify your particular sphere of authority and influence. Vocations 4 Life is designed to equip Christians to ‘be church’ in every sphere of creation. It serves to equip the participant in their engagement of the particular spheres they are called to impact.

What is the Vocations 4 Life Journey

Vocations 4 Life, is a journey of discovery; a discovery of who you are –

in God, your creator,
in Christ’s body, the church,
and in the all of the creation that God has made for you.

This course has been designed as a follow-on from the book ‘Heavens Answer to Earth’s Dilemma’. It takes up the theology and understandings developed in that book, and applies them to the individual’s life/work calling in God.

In the Vocations 4 Life course we explore the gifts, character and vocation that God had given to you ‘4Life’. As you progress through the course, you will build a greater understanding of who you are in relationship to every facet of your life and work in the creation that God has made.

Vocation is your life’s direction, intent and purpose: the following graphic represents this divine movement through all of your life and work ‘toward the goal [of] the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus’ (Phil 3:14).
Vocational Movement

Over the years, there have been numerous avenues available to assist people in discovering more about who they are, and what they are meant to be doing in life. This course, whilst drawing upon established wisdoms, is designed to approach this subject from a Trinitarian standpoint.

Defining Vocation?

The letter V in V4Life stands for VOCATIONS. One might well ask at this point: what is a vocation? Firstly, a vocation is not just the job you do; it is that, but it’s much more than that. Your vocation has to do with your life’s calling from God.
It has to do with the way in which you have been designed and commissioned by God to fulfill your life’s purpose. This will include many works – paid, unpaid, short-term, or long-term – that you do; but again your vocation is much larger than any and all of these works.
Your vocation is the purpose and the power that flows through all of your life and work to enable you to –

grow up and mature in God and thereby take your place as a son or daughter who is able to ‘rule over the works of God’s hands’ (Psalm 8).
contribute to and equip others, with a view to their achieving their own God-given purpose.
respond and answer what Paul in Romans 8 speaks of as the cry of creation; a creation that is, in fact, your eternal inheritance.
to shine the light of God through all of your good works so that people living in darkness will be able to respond to the goodness and rule of God in the heavens (Matthew 5:16).
